SUMMARY:Tigre Tigre comes to Northfield
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Fox & Beggar Theater will present its eighth feature-length production, “TIGRE! TIGRE!”, a new show about humankind’s absurd relationship to technological progress.\n\n\nThe story begins at the dawn of the Scientific Revolution, where a pair of Medieval two-dimensional paper dolls are building the first thing to exist in the next dimension — a human.\n\n\nCombining puppetry, traditional clown theater and a live score influenced by everything from Medieval court music to Gilbert & Sullivan, “TIGRE! TIGRE!” explores humanity’s relationship to technology while asking the fundamental question: “What drives humans to perpetually open new doors that they know they won’t be able to close?\nThe team is excited to visit Keepsake once again for our third Fox & Beggar performance at the cidery. Come catch the non-ticketed performance atop the cidery’s mobile theater as part of their Oktoberfest celebration.\n\n\nThe performance is 7-8:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Keepsake Cidery. The event is free, but a donation of $20 is suggested. Blankets or lawn chairs are suggested, and the performance is for all ages.\n\n\n“TIGRE! TIGRE!” was partially devised by 12 artists over three weeks at the Acreage in Osceola, Wis. under the working title of “The Paper Operetta.” The project returns in fall to tour across Minnesota and Wisconsin, including stops in St. Croix Falls, Stillwater, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Northfield, Viroqua, Eau Claire, Hayward and Bayfield.\n\n\n
