Food vendors in Central Park

Activity vendors downtown (Facepainting, various craft vendors offering free or low-cost projects)

Wells Fargo Bank tours over lunch (times TBD)

Strolling musicians (high school musicians, Community Band, Owatonna Symphony Orchestra individuals and small ensembles welcome to set out an instrument case and collect money from passersby)

8am FREE fitness offerings in Central Park (previous years have been yoga, but SurfSet and others have expressed interest in participating this year)

 

Thursday July 26:

11am-7pm Dunk tank (community member / business owner / sports coaches / teacher signup in half hour time slots: Proceeds go towards Main Street Hometown Holidays lighting REVAMP

11-2 $30 “headshot/ professional photo updates” by Legault Images in her downtown studio

COMMUNITY NIGHT

5-7pm Car Show

5-7pm Corvette club cars on Broadway St, Harley Davidson motorcycles on Bridge St 5-8pm Melon Bust (FREE melons served in Central Park)

5-8pm Food Drive, Central Park

7pm Community Band Concert (11@7 concert series)

8pm/ following Community Band “Christmas in July” Carolers reunion to help raise money for Hometown Holidays weekend. ROGER TENNEY will be conducting a piece!

 

 

Friday July 27:

KIDS DAY

10am-3pm United Way organizations setup in Central Park with free activities for kids. Parks & Rec bouncy house, kiddie train, frog bog, FFA petting zoo, RADZoo, Arts Center crafts

10am: Kiddie Parade (pirate dress up theme) Participating: Local Daycares, Pillsbury gymnastics and circus arts, local dance groups, Renaissance Fest people to advertise for their event (20 people!), Girl Scouts, local school crossing guards, SAC program…

10:45ish: Costume judging (done by the Pirate Festival organizers)

11:00 Crazy Hair competition

11-5 Straight River Sports obstacle course /fat tire bikes on Bridge St, Parks & Rec 3×3 basketball tournament, cornhole tournament, assorted other sports-related activities on Bridge St. Details TBD

12-7: Dunk tank (community member / business owner / sports coaches / teacher signup in half hour time slots: Proceeds go towards Parks & Rec/ We All Play **signup in advance to be dunked!

1-4pm Pillsbury Performances on Central Park Stage (variety show, magic, singing, dancing, PGA, circus…)

5pm teen even in Central Park (YoungLife / Steele County Safe Drug Free)

7pm Jazz David opening for  8pm Kris Allen Concert in Central Park (partnering with Winterstate Entertainment/ Every Color Matters) FREE CONCERT

 

Saturday July 28:

7am-1pm Farmers Market (Farmer’s Market vendors able to set up in Central Park until noon, or on Bridge St until 3/4pm)

8-9am REFIT fitness dance class in the middle of the street, 200block of Cedar

8am -1pm Activity vendors downtown (Facepainting, various craft vendors offering free or low-cost projects)

10am-12pm Canvas Painting in Central Park **SIGNUP IN ADVANCE

1pm-3pm Owatonna Sings Competition (part of the state MN Sings Competition). Owatonna Business Partnership has paid an entry fee for this event, so we get to send TWO singers to the state competition in September where there is $10,000 in prizes, including studio recording time! Competition open to entrants age 15-25.

8pm: Bridge Street Tavern Street Dance
