Mother Banjo CD Release

Mother Banjo (aka Ellen Stanley) calls her music “pub gospel.” The Star Tribune describes it as “traditional folk and bluegrass … with genuinely poetic lyrics” and puts her in the company of Lucy Kaplansky and Gillian Welch. Her fans include John Gorka and Josh Ritter, and her live performances – always engaging, often humorous – weave personal stories with lively covers and her own powerful material. And she’ll be at the Tavern Lounge in Northfield at 8pm on January 5th, with a CD release. For more information, go to motherbanjo.com and tavernofnorthfield.com.
