The Garden is a collection of compositions for solo bass by Asuka Kakitani (2027 American Composers Forum McKnight Fellow), inspired by the quiet resilience and vitality of plant life. Drawing on themes of growth, strength, and interconnectedness found in the natural world, the music unfolds as a meditative journey through sound. Performed by Wisconsin-based bassist Mark Urness, the recording will be released soon on Neuma Records and showcases the instrument’s remarkable depth and range in an intimate, reflective setting.
