Celebration of the Arts

An evening of creativity, community and live performance. Free, all-ages art activities (5pm), including drawing led by Kate Langlais and a wool felting project led by Char Johnson.  Live performance experience with Mixed Precipitation’s Pickup Truck Opera Volume 6: Tales of Hoffman (7pm). Celebrating 18 years of inventive outdoor performances, Mixed Precipitation brings a bold, futuristic twist to The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach. Follow the adventurous poet Hoffmann as he searches for love and creative inspiration in a world overtaken by technology. Along the way, he encounters ghosts, robots, magicians and shape-shifting demons in this imaginative, high-energy production. Blending classical opera with 1990s grunge and R&B, this “Pickup Truck Opera” is a truly one-of-a-kind theatrical experience – accessible, surprising and fun for all ages.
