Review by Katlin Heidgerken-Greene
This slim volume doesn’t look like much, but it’s packed with images – of early Northfield people, documents and artifacts and, most interestingly, of historic Northfield buildings from public and commercial to individual houses noted for their age, architectural style and early inhabitants. Northfield Public Library owns several copies and keeps one handy at the reference desk. Pick it up and flip through to see a parade of familiar sites. Essays about the founding of the town and later development give context, but for me the highlight is the “Historic Resources” section by Carole Zellie (this is the old house Who’s Who of the book).
